About Leighdale Equestrian Centre

Leighdale Equestrian Centre is located at 1248 Bannockburn–Shelford Road, Teesdale, within the Golden Plains Shire. The facility is home to a number of equestrian organisations, including Leighdale Pony Club, Geelong and District Carriage Drivers, Inverleigh Riding Club, Bannockburn Teesdale Riding Club and Barwon Hunt Club. In addition to our resident clubs, the grounds are regularly enjoyed by a large number of casual members and visiting riders.

Leighdale Equestrian Centre offers a range of quality facilities suitable for training, competition and recreational riding, including:

  • Multiple surfaced arenas, capable of accommodating several show jumping rings or up to 8–10 dressage arenas. Facilities include a fully enclosed 60m x 75m arena, an 18.5m x 26m ménage and a 17m round yard.
  • A recently upgraded cross-country course, set across undulating terrain with quality footing. Fences range from 40cm (PCV Grade 6) to 90cm (PCV Grade 2), including a newly upgraded water complex with options up to PCV Grade 2.
  • Approximately 45 spacious horse yards, with access to fresh water, together with ample parking suitable for large numbers of floats, trucks and support vehicles.
  • Modern clubroom facilities, featuring a commercial-grade kitchen, toilet and shower amenities, a large function room and shaded outdoor seating areas.
  • Two purpose-built horse wash bays.
  • A premium indoor arena, measuring 70m x 30m and featuring a first-class self-watering Ebb & Flow surface. The indoor arena is available for hire for private use, training and clinics.

Pro-Rata Memberships

  • From 30 June each year, new memberships will be available at a 50% reduced membership fee for the remainder of the membership period. The commencement date may be varied at the discretion of the Committee.
